# Stream to several platforms at once

> Send one Streamloop loop to up to 5 destinations at the same time, such as YouTube, Twitch and Kick, from a single encode.

<Info>
  Multistream is rolling out gradually. If your loop doesn't show **Add destination**, or you see
  "Streaming to more than one destination isn't enabled for this workspace yet", it isn't available
  in your workspace yet.
</Info>

With multistream, one loop streams to **up to 5 destinations** at the same time, for example your
YouTube channel, Twitch and Kick. Streamloop encodes the stream once and sends the same picture
and sound to each destination.

## Add destinations

<Steps>
  <Step title="Stop the loop">
    You can only add destinations while the loop is stopped. A live or scheduled loop shows
    **Stop the loop to add destinations**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the destination list">
    In the loop's **General** tab, find **Destinations**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add each destination">
    Click **Add destination** and pick a saved destination, or connect a new one. Repeat for each
    platform, up to 5.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start the loop">
    Start or schedule the loop as usual. Each destination connects on its own.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  A loop can stream to **only one YouTube channel**. The other destinations can be any RTMP
  platform. See [Twitch](/docs/platform/twitch) and [Other RTMP platforms](/docs/platform/other-rtmp).
</Note>

While the loop is stopped, each destination's menu lets you **Disable** or **Enable** it, or
**Remove from loop**. A disabled destination stays in the list but receives nothing and costs
nothing.

## What it costs

The first destination is included in the streaming rate. Each extra destination that's turned on
adds a flat fee while the loop is live: **\$3.50, \$6.00, \$8.00 or \$12.50 per 30 days** at 720p,
1080p, 1440p or 4K. The loop's **Costs** panel shows the total before you start. See
[Billing](/docs/billing#extra-destinations).

## While the loop is live

You can't add destinations or turn one back on while the loop is live or scheduled. You can **Stop
sending** to a destination. It goes off the air at once, and the others keep streaming. You can turn
it back on after the loop stops.

You can't stop sending to the only destination still on air. Stop the loop instead.

### Destination status

Each destination shows its own status, and the loop shows a summary such as **2 of 3 destinations
live**:

| Status | What it means |
| - | - |
| **Live** | The destination is receiving your stream. |
| **Connecting** | Streamloop is connecting to the destination. |
| **Not connecting** | The connection dropped or was refused. Streamloop keeps retrying. |
| **Retrying later** | The platform keeps closing the connection. Streamloop waits, then tries again. |
| **Paused** | A planned reconnect to the platform. It resumes on its own. |
| **Off** | You disabled the destination or stopped sending to it. |
| **Off after error** | The platform refused the stream for good (for example, a wrong stream key), so Streamloop turned this destination off. The others keep streaming. |

When a destination turns off after an error, the row says why and what to fix, such as "Check the
stream key and any username or password in this destination." Fix it, and turn the destination back
on after the loop stops.

## Quality across destinations

Every destination gets the same encode, so Streamloop picks settings that **all** of them accept.
For example, if one platform takes a lower bitrate, every destination gets that bitrate. If a
destination can't take the loop's resolution, the row says so: lower the resolution, or remove
that destination.

## Good to know

* Onboarding sets up one destination. Add more from the loop's **General** tab afterwards.
* A YouTube destination can also run a [backup stream](/docs/platform/youtube#backup-stream).
