Scheduling
A live stream scheduler you can just ask
This is for anyone who runs a 24/7 or repeating live stream from recorded videos. Streamloop streams your videos live to YouTube, Twitch, Kick and more from the cloud, so your computer can be off. Tell Smart order, its built-in assistant, what plays at which hour and on which days, then set when the stream starts and stops.
$1 for a 7-day trial, then monthly unless you cancel in the trial.
Set up your schedule in three steps
- 01 /
Add your videos
Upload your videos or add them from a link. Then connect YouTube, Twitch, Kick or another platform.
- 02 /
Ask for the order
Open Smart order and say what plays when. Check the preview, then apply the order.
- 03 /
Set when it is live
Start the stream once, or repeat it Daily or Weekly. A repeating window must be shorter than 24 hours.
Say what plays at which hour
Smart order reads the time of day and the weekday in your time zone, daylight saving included. You see the order before you apply it. You can ask for things like:
- Cartoons from 7 to 10 in the morning, talk shows in the afternoon
- On Sundays, the sermon videos all day
- The intro once, then shuffle the rest
- A station ID after every 3 videos
Your YouTube broadcast is ready before you go live
Connect your YouTube channel and set a one-time start for the stream. In the YouTube tab, give the broadcast a title, answer "Made for kids?" and leave "Publish upcoming broadcast on YouTube when scheduled" on. Streamloop then creates the upcoming broadcast, so viewers can see it before it starts. If you move or cancel the start, the broadcast follows. For each step, read how to schedule a YouTube live stream step by step.
Asking versus filling in a calendar
All three can put a stream live at set times. Here is what each one asks of you.
| Streamloop | A calendar grid in playout software | Starting each stream by hand | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How you set it | Ask in plain words, check the preview, apply | Drag shows into time slots on a grid | Pick the videos and press start each time |
| When your computer is off | The stream keeps playing in the cloud | It keeps playing if the software runs on a server | The stream stops |
| Changing it while live | Apply a new order. It takes over at the next video | Edit the time slots in the grid | Stop the stream, change the playlist, start again |
| What you pay for | The time your stream is live | The software, and the server it runs on | Your computer, its power and your internet upload |
Good to know
A new block starts when the video on screen ends
Smart order does not cut a video at the hour. Breaks at an exact time, like news at the top of every hour, are available on request: contact us to turn them on.
Need frames that switch on a timer?
In Live Scenes, ask the studio assistant to switch frames every 10 minutes. The switching continues with the studio closed. Access is granted within 24 hours.
Viewers see no programme guide
Viewers watch on YouTube, Twitch and the other platforms you connect. Streamloop does not show them a guide of what plays next.
What it costs
Streaming is billed by the minute, only while live: one 24/7 stream at 1080p is about $10 per 30 days. Start with a $1 trial week, which becomes a monthly plan unless you cancel, or top up and pay as you go.
Frequently asked questions
Can my live stream start and stop by itself?+
Yes. Set a start time once, or repeat the stream Daily or Weekly in one window shorter than 24 hours. The stream starts and stops on its own.
Can weekdays and weekends play different videos?+
Yes. Ask Smart order, for example "on Saturdays and Sundays, play the films all day". It reads the weekday in your time zone.
Can I change what plays while the stream is live?+
Yes. Ask Smart order for a new order and apply it. The stream switches at the next video, without a restart.
Does my computer need to stay on?+
No. The stream and its schedule run in the cloud, so you can turn your computer off.
Will my stream show on YouTube before it starts?+
Yes, for a one-time start, when you connect YouTube by signing in. In the YouTube tab, give the broadcast a title and answer "Made for kids?". Daily and weekly windows, and streams sent with a stream key, appear on YouTube when they go live.
Can I run a TV-style channel with shows by time of day?+
Yes. Put your shows in one playlist and tell Smart order which ones play in the morning, afternoon and evening. See create your own TV channel.
