7 Best Restream Alternatives for Multistreaming and Live Studios (2026)

For a live show with guests in the browser, the closest Restream alternatives are OneStream Live, Upstream and StreamYard. For a pre-recorded channel that runs 24/7, Restream is not the right tool on its public plans. Its looped videos stop after a set number of loops or hours. Use a tool that loops with no limit, such as Upstream or the others ranked below. For live shows, Restream itself is still a strong choice.

This page is for live hosts with guests, OBS streamers on 2 or 3 platforms, 24/7 channel owners, and Restream users whose loop stopped.

Streamloop, which publishes this page, turns pre-recorded videos into a 24/7 live stream from the cloud, with no OBS and your computer off. It suits lofi and music channels, sermon replays, podcast replays and study streams. A live stream stays live, so new viewers can find it at any hour. That is the job Restream sells as Upload & Stream, with a loop limit.

Which Restream alternatives are worth switching to?

We ranked the tools for the one job Restream cannot do on its public plans: a nonstop loop on several platforms. They are in order of the price for 30 days at 1080p30 on 3 platforms, billed monthly. The order says nothing about live shows with guests. OneStream Live is last only because its 24/7 option sends to YouTube alone. We read each vendor's pricing and help pages, but did not buy plans or run test streams.

  1. Playout.video

Playout.video runs a persistent channel on every paid plan and adds a browser studio with guests. On the Channel plan and up, a calendar runs the channel for you.

From: free; Creator $29 a month, or $19 billed yearly, with 5 platforms

Best for: an always-on channel with a calendar and a browser studio with guests.

Not a fit: an OBS feed on a small budget: RTMP input starts on Business, at $149 a month, or $119 billed yearly.

  2. Upstream

Upstream combines a browser studio for up to 10 guests with multistreaming to up to 10 platforms per stream. Every paid plan runs 24/7, and comments from all platforms land in one chat box.

From: free; $30 a month per stream at 1080p30, or $24 billed yearly

Best for: guests, multistreaming and a 24/7 channel on one plan.

Not a fit: SRT or RTMPS input, because it takes plain RTMP only. Its integrations page still labels Live Studio "in beta".

  3. Livepush

Livepush relays one feed to many platforms from the cloud, and shows comments from Facebook, YouTube and Twitch in one place.

From: free, 20 hours a month; Creators $39 a month, or $33 billed yearly

Best for: relaying one OBS feed to many platforms, with one chat.

Not a fit: guest shows: it takes a webcam but has no guest studio.

  4. LiveReacting

LiveReacting is a browser studio with guests, audience games and polls. Comments from the platforms you sign in to arrive in one chat. A separate 24/7 plan streams one video channel with no time limit.

From: free; 24/7 plan $39.99 a month, or $33 billed yearly

Best for: interactive shows with games and polls.

Not a fit: an OBS feed: its pages state no RTMP or SRT input.

  5. Castr

Castr is a video hosting and delivery platform. It loops pre-recorded video from the Premium plan up. Its pricing page lists a maximum of 15 loop days on Premium and 30 on Ultra and Events.

From: 7-day trial; Starter $19.99 a month, or $16.67 billed yearly; loops from Premium, $199.99, or $166.67 billed yearly

Best for: video hosting, a player with a paywall, and many input protocols.

Not a fit: guest shows: contributors join as streams, not through a video-call room.

  6. OneStream Live

Its browser studio takes 4 to 16 guests by plan, and one chat covers Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitch and Kick.

From: free; Basic $15 a month, or $12 billed yearly; 24/7 to YouTube is a $30 a month add-on (its pricing page and help center disagree; this page follows the pricing page)

Best for: a studio with guests, plus scheduled pre-recorded video.

Not a fit: a 24/7 channel on several platforms, because its 24/7 option sends to YouTube only.

  7. Stay on Restream

Restream wins at its own job. It sends one live feed to up to 8 platforms on Business, with one chat for every platform. Its browser studio takes up to 10 participants. If you stream live shows and never need a nonstop loop, stay on Restream.

From: free; Standard $19 a month, or $16 billed yearly

Best for: live shows with guests and one chat.

    Not a fit: a 24/7 loop.

How much does Streamloop cost for a 24/7 stream or a live OBS feed?

The table shows the price of 30 days nonstop (720 hours) to one platform, by quality and frame rate. You can pay as you go, with no plan. A monthly plan is optional and costs the same. The $1 trial week becomes a monthly plan at the quality you pick, unless you cancel. For 3 platforms, see the price check.

720p$4$5$7.50$3.50
1080p$8$10$15$6
1440p$16$20$30$8

What does a live OBS feed cost with Live Scenes?

Live Scenes adds graphics, a web page, or live data from Google Sheets, CSV or JSON to a live feed or a playlist. A score or a ticker can then update itself.

Live Scenes is billed by the minute, only while live: one 1080p channel at 30 fps, live 24/7, is about $20 per 30 days. Each extra platform adds $6 per 30 days at 1080p. At 720p30, the same channel is about $9.44, and at 1080p60 about $35.

For example, a live show at 1080p30 goes to 3 platforms for 3 hours, 4 times a week. That is about 52 hours a month. At $32 per 30 days of nonstop streaming ($20 plus 2 x $6), those 52 hours cost about $2.31.

The Estimated costs card of a Streamloop Scene stream at 1080p30 with three destinations: $32 a month, $12 of it for two extra destinations.

A Scene stream at 1080p 30 fps to three platforms costs $32 a month. You see the price before you go live.

What other fees does Streamloop charge?

  • Encoding: $0.005 per minute of encoding, once, only for files that need it.
  • Storage: a loop up to 15 GiB needs no extra storage. Above that, the first 30 GiB are free, then $0.35 per GiB a month while live.
  • Card top-ups: a fee of up to 5%, at least $0.50, depending on the payment method; the top-up window shows it before you pay.
  • Pay as you go: the smallest top-up is $5, and credits do not expire.
  • No free plan and no yearly plan.

Can Restream loop a video 24/7?

No, not on its public plans. A looped video stops after 10 loops or 40 hours, and playlists do not loop.

Restream sells pre-recorded streaming as Upload & Stream, apart from its main plans. Premier costs $39 a month and has no looping. Looping starts on Marathon, at $79 a month, with a 4-hour video library. Media costs $239 a month, with a 12-hour library and 4K video. These are US prices, and prices can vary by country.

A playlist holds up to 40 videos and cannot change after it goes live. Restream's Upload & Stream page markets "24/7 TV, music, and news streams", but its help center sets these limits.

Restream Upload & Stream plans. Premier costs $39 a month with a 2 hour library and no looping. Marathon costs $79 with looping. Media costs $239 with 4K video and looping.

Looping on Restream starts with the $79 Marathon plan.

If your Restream loop stopped

Move the same videos to a tool that loops with no limit, such as Streamloop or Upstream. In Streamloop, upload the files, or import them from Google Drive, YouTube or a direct link. Add up to 5 platforms, then start the stream. The step-by-step guide is How to run a 24/7 live stream from pre-recorded video.

Twitch, Kick and Facebook take up to 1080p, so a 4K loop cannot go to them. On Twitch, Streamloop reconnects the stream every 20 hours, with a gap of about 100 seconds. On Facebook, it reconnects every 7 hours 45 minutes, with a gap of about 4 minutes.

A Streamloop loop with five destinations: a YouTube channel, Twitch, Kick, a Facebook Page and a custom RTMP server. Add destination says Up to 5 destinations.

One Streamloop loop sends the same stream to up to 5 platforms. Stream keys show as dots.

Is there a free Restream alternative?

Yes, and Restream has a free plan too. None of them runs a free 24/7 channel: the most generous, Upstream, gives 24 streaming hours a month.

  • StreamYard Free: 1 destination, with the StreamYard logo in your streams. New users can try all multistreaming features free for 7 days.
  • Streamlabs Free: one vertical and one horizontal output with Dual Output. Multistreaming needs Ultra, a paid plan.
  • OBS Studio: free and open source. It sends to one platform by default. A free plugin, such as Multiple RTMP outputs, adds more, and your own upload carries each copy.
  • Upstream Free: 24 streaming hours a month to up to 10 platforms, with no watermark and no card.

OneStream Live, Livepush, Playout.video and LiveReacting also have free plans, with limits on time, quality or platforms: see each entry.

Frequently asked questions

What is the closest overall Restream alternative?

OneStream Live. Like Restream, it has a browser studio with guests, one chat for all platforms, and multistreaming from an encoder. If you also need a 24/7 channel on several platforms, Upstream has guests, multistreaming and 24/7 on one plan.

Which Restream alternative supports true 24/7 prerecorded streaming?

Streamloop, Upstream, Livepush from Creators, LiveReacting's 24/7 plan and Playout.video paid plans run a stream with no loop limit. Castr loops from Premium, with a cap on loop days. OneStream Live runs 24/7 to YouTube only. Restream does not, on its public plans: see the loop limits.

How much does Restream prerecorded looping cost?

Looping needs the Marathon or Media plan of Upload & Stream. Premier does not loop. The prices are in the loop section.

Can Streamloop replace Restream Studio?

Partly. It cannot replace Studio for interviews or panels, because it has no guest cameras and no shared chat. For an OBS or camera feed, Live Scenes adds graphics built by an AI assistant and sends the feed to up to 5 platforms. For pre-recorded video, Streamloop loops 24/7, which Upload & Stream cannot do.

Which Restream alternative is best for hosted video and monetization?

Castr. It combines multistreaming with video hosting, a player with a paywall, ads from your own VAST tag, and white-label OTT. Its pre-recorded loop starts on the Premium plan.

Is Restream free?

Yes. The Free plan sends to 2 platforms at once, with Restream branding. Paid plans add platforms and remove the branding: see Restream's prices.

Is StreamYard better than Restream?

It depends on how many platforms you need. StreamYard's free plan sends to 1 destination, with its logo. Core sends to 3 for $44.99 a month, or $35.99 billed yearly. Advanced sends to 8 for $88.99 a month, or $68.99 billed yearly. Restream's free plan sends to 2 platforms, and Standard to 3. Both have a browser studio: StreamYard Core shows 10 people on screen, and Restream supports up to 10 participants. To compare StreamYard with a 24/7 tool, read Streamloop vs StreamYard.

What happens when a Restream loop hits 40 hours?

The event ends. A looped video stops after 10 loops or 40 hours. Restream streams all loops of one video as a single event, and playlists do not loop at all. See the loop limits.
